"Learn Photography" will periodically showcase photos I am working on and provide a little (or sometimes a lot) insight into how the photo was created. From time to time I will share what other photographers are doing to help us improve our photography.

I am hoping that "Learn Photography" will have something to offer the enthusiast, the professional and all those in between

06-08-14 Glenyce Is One

June 08, 2014

By Scott Shephard

I don't often seek editorial advice on the photos I post here. But on this occasion, I was lucky to have our son Brian (the father of the subject) in the room as we were looking at photos from Glenyce Jane Shephard's first birthday party.

He said he liked this one. And so here it is. The subject is perfect, of course, but the photo is bit flawed in that it is a little "soft," which is photographer talk for "out of focus." So this photo goes down as a less than perfect capture that has emotional importance to those who know and love little Glenyce.
