02-11-15 Tranquility - Sea of Cortes

By Scott Shephard

I'm back after more than two weeks away from this "photo a day" blog. Do I have a few photos to share after our recent visit to the Sea of Cortes off of the east coast of Baja California? Does the sun come up in the east?

Today's post may be an artistic failure: a photo of another sunrise with no clear focal point makes for a boring photo. But it succeeds on a personal, emotional level: I like it because I was there. And if there are any of my students reading this, you know that "liking it because I was there" is never a way to judge the quality of an image.

But here it is anyway. Stick around for a few days and I promise I'll try for something that might  have more than emotional appeal (to me).
