07-15-15 Group Photo
By Scott Shephard
I am getting ready to leave for the Black Hills tomorrow for the 2015 Black Hills Photo Adventure. It starts on Friday night and runs through Sunday night. This is the third year for this workshop and I am really looking forward to it. I have seven enthusiastic people signed up and it should be a great weekend.
Though I don't take many photos during the workshop, I occasionally get my camera out. On the occasion of this photo, we were visiting Mt. Rushmore and the assignment was "people." I've often felt that tourists are often at least as interesting and photogenic as the places and things that tourists visit and see.
I really don't know what this group is but I was struck most by the attire of their leaders, who are getting the group ready for a photo in front of the Four Faces. It's interesting to me that even though I am clearly visible to the group, all but one of the group seems to be oblivious to me. It is a candid shot done in a less than candid way.
