08-30-15 This Time I've Caught the Moon

By Scott Shephard

The smoky haze from western wild fires had diminished and I was back at "The Rock" this morning thinking I might have a shot at capturing the full moon. I got this shot before the moon went behind the clouds.

I was telling my friend Scott P., a pastor who fishes in his spare time, that nature photography is my version of fishing - I go out at the right time with the right gear and hope to catch something. But even if I don't, it's worth being out. It was certainly worth being up on the rock on a relatively warm and clear morning late in August in the beautiful state I live in.
