On a recent walk that took Deb and me past a field of beans, what I saw and what I captured in this frame were somewhat different. What I liked about the scene was the even rows and I also liked the way the morning sunlight played on the rows.

So is this a good photograph? Of course the answer to that question is subjective. But if my mission was to photograph a healthy soy bean field in a somewhat interesting way, I would say, "Yes."

But if I had been after something artistic, I would say "Nice try."

And for those of you who don't know beans, these are soy beans, from which such wonderful things as soy sauce and tofu come. Yes, tofu. Now there's a work of art. . . .
