Angels play a prominent role in the Christmas Story so I thought I would post my favorite angel. She/He stands quietly praying over a grave in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown, SD. I have photographed this beautiful work of art many times and have no doubt posted photos to this blog. But, as you may have seen, there are some subjects that draw me back again and again.
Imagine this: It has just snowed. it is very cold and you are standing here in the fading light of a very short December day. There is a kind of peace and quiet that only a fresh snow can bring to a scene like this. You are alone with your thoughts and all you can hear is your inner voice - and maybe even the comforting prayer of our little angel.
