People of a certain age will no doubt realize that I have borrowed a line from a prominent ‘70s beer commercial for my blog title. And, to paraphrase the tagline, “Tonight, let it be . . . marshmallows.”
Scott P and I have been building camp fires together since at least 1972. That’s a lot of marshmallows. And while our beer choices have evolved and shifted over the decades, the marshmallow has remained pretty much the same.
Are we the same? At age 67, we have clearly evolved and shifted, too. But our friendship is built on the bedrock of similar interests, shared experiences and enduring trust. Isn’t that the basis of all friendships?
