Sixty percent of my posts in January have been in black and white. Maybe it reflects how I see things these days - color is certainly muted in much of our landscape, especially during the string of cloudy days we've just experienced.
So, after yesterday's post, which I characterized as reflecting "yin and yang," I decided to find to some color. So consider today's post as yang to yesterday's yin.
I'd like you to think I stepped into our backyard to capture this photo. But actually I had to go all the way to the Big Island of Hawaii last October to find these. How can you not feel happy and optimistic when you see this pair of flowers reaching out to the Hawaii sun and sky?
It will be a couple of months before we have our own flowers to enjoy outdoors here in South Dakota. So today I offer you a colorful vicarious experience.
