Being at the right place at the right time is a a key to making an interesting picture. Though, as Ansel Adams said, “Fortune favors the prepared mind.” I guess I was ready for this shot . . . .

It is amazing thing to attempt to swim with these playful sea-lion pups.

This morning I’m alone with my thoughts but I’m in a pretty crowded room.

07-21-15 Men At Work

July 21, 2015 in Black Hills, Blog, people, Photography

By Scott Shephard

Some people go to church on Sunday mornings. Some might go fishing or play golf. But on this particular Sunday morning, Mark and Frank Thomas went looking for photos at Lakota Lake in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They were part of the 2015 Black Hills Photo Adventure, which ended on Sunday evening.

We covered a lot of ground during the workshop. And for those who feel we should have been in church, does it help at all that our first stop after Lakota Lake was the Cathedral Spires?

Here are a few more photos of the photographers at work: (click on any image to enlarge it)
