A photo isn’t always about some lost moment . . .

I have to wonder if the person who mowed this lawn used GPS to get the lines so perfectly straight and perpendicular?

This was the only good shot I got of this group. It all fell apart shortly afterwards.

09-21-14 The Lesson

September 21, 2014 in Black Hills, Blog, Family, people

By Scott Shephard

It has been rare in recent years to be at our cabin in the Black Hills and have our youngest son Jon there, too. And is an even rarer circumstance to have Jon's friend Lynn present, who flew in from Seattle for a long weekend.

Generally, we don't make our guests work too much when they are at the cabin but when Jon's grandma Glenyce casually voiced a wish that a leaning tree be taken down, it becomes Jon's command.

In this photo Jon instructs Lynne on the uses of a chainsaw. Lynn, as far as I know, had never used one but she proceeded to handle it with great skill. The real pleasure, beyond having these two present for a few days, was being able to sit on the deck and watch someone else work. :-)
