Elliot Erwitt is a photographer you have probably not heard of, though you might have seen one of his famous, and sometimes odd, dog photos. The acorns you are looking at were “littering” the ground at Lakota Lake Recreation Area in the Black Hills and have nothing to do with Erwitt’s style and normal subjects. But maybe they have something to do with his philosophy of photography?
You certainly have heard the crunch of acorns if you’ve walked by an oak tree. But have you ever gotten down on your hands and knees (or even on your belly) to look at them on their own terms?
