04-05-17 Still Life with Snow

By Scott Shephard

Deb and I are in Aspen, CO, and I was up early today looking for photo opportunities. Of all of the rocks in the Rocky Mountains, these caught my eye. It had snowed yesterday and that snow still clings to the top and sides of the big boulder, which I would say is about 8 feet from top to bottom.

It was cold this morning. And it was very quiet in this part of Rockies, largely because the road I was on, highway 82 south of Aspen, is closed during the winter months. Thus, is was a perfect place to launch my drone and fly it up 100 feet or so to get this photo. It's nice having a flying tripod and camera. :-)
