One of the more intriguing artifacts that we found in my grandma Beecher's house was a crystal ball. As far as we knew, she never used it in any mystical way. It was given to me and It has sat on my bookshelf in my den for years and is one of my favorites possessions.
Back in December I used it to take a photo of our Christmas tree and thought that this would become a new project - the world as seen through the ball. It turns out that I'm not the first to have this idea - just do a search for "photography through crystal ball" and I'm thinking you'll find some pretty intriguing stuff.
Anyway, here's my contribution to crystal ball photography. It is a view of our front yard at the Black Hills cabin as seen through our picture window.
