09-02-15 Two Billies
By Scott Shephard
Scott Peterson and I just got back from the Black Hills. We spent several days together and didn't take a single selfie. What's with that?
So to find a photo of the two of us, I went back 9 whole years and found this one. Oddly, I have more hair now than I did then. But that's only due to my haircut. Scott has the same amount of hair, though there may be a bit more gray. I don't look at this photo and think, "Those were the good old days." They are still good. I'm a lucky man.
The title of the post, incidentally, goes back about 30 years when we decided that since we were both named Scott, we needed a different name. But we both ended up calling each other Billy. Yes, it's strange and I believe it might have been inspired by a beer commercial. Imagine that.
By the way, the rocks of "The Rock" have changed very little in the 9 years since this photo was taken. I'm guessing the next 9 will be a bit kinder to them than us. C'est la vie.

PS. If you are reading this SP, here's a photo of the trout you caught at the Hippy Hole along with one of my favorites from the first day were went there. Also, I threw in an informal portrait of a guy we encountered in Deadwood and one of you heading off on an adventure. (What's that strapped on the front rack?)
