A photo isn’t always about some lost moment . . .

I have to wonder if the person who mowed this lawn used GPS to get the lines so perfectly straight and perpendicular?

This was the only good shot I got of this group. It all fell apart shortly afterwards.

10-19-15 North Fork Skomomish River

October 19, 2015 in Blog, Landscape, Nature, Travel

Today's Un-Cruise Adventure found us anchored just off of Hoodsport in the southern reach of the Hood Canal. Our goal was to get to the Olympic National Forest near Lake Cushman and our options were a 1 mile stroll, or a 2 or 4 mile hike. Deb and I opted for the 2 mile hike, which took us along the Skokomish River and through just a small part of the amazing rain forest.

Our hike was not exactly a "photowalk" - we had ground to cover. I was often 50 yards behind the group and managed to get one or two "keepers" along the way without getting lost

I'm not sure what you look at when you see this photo but what I like are all of the textures that are present, which are especially noticeable if you view this on a bigger screen.
