This is the view outside of our camper this morning. We are staying for two nights in the International Peace Garden, which sits astride the border between the USA and Canada in north central North Dakota.
This is a strange place to me in that we are camping in the US right now but on our short bike ride yesterday, Deb and I crossed into Canada and then back into the US - no passport required.
Today we will go see the garden part of the Peace Garden and then, just for fun, get in our truck, leave the park, go through Canadian customs and go north into Canada. I haven’t been outside of the US since February, 2020 and I look forward to being a foreigner again - if only for an hour or two. We plan to eat lunch in Boissevain, Manitoba, Canada. Will poutine* be on the menu? I hope so. I have armed myself with my daily cholesterol and blood pressure medication.
*Traditional Canadian food made from crispy fries, squeaky cheese curds and rich gravy.
