Deb and I headed east from our camp site on the Saint Croix River yesterday afernoon. We are in Wisconsin now and on the other side of Lake Wissota, which is a few miles east of Chippewa Falls. And, no, this photo doesn’t document how coffee was served at our camp site this morning.
This photo was taken back in October on our visit to a small seaside village in Croatia. And this coffee - a Cappucino (1/3 coffee, 1/3 milk, 1/3 foam) - was served in a typical European fashion in a real ceramic cup on a real ceramic coffee saucer (cup location is offset to allow room for the small coffee spoon), with a real glass of ice water as a chaser. Perfect! Many countries in Europe are known for their carefully curated coffee culture. (4 “C” words in a row!)
Chippewa Falls, on the other hand, is renowned for their famous brewery - Leinenkugel, aka Leine. And, yes, Deb and I did go to the brewery to sample their product (9/10 beer, 1/10 foam). Also perfect. There was no artful design in the beer’s foam, however.
