This isn't the first time I've posted this photo of Jon, Deb, Brian and me. But today, on my birthday, it was the first thing I thought about when I went looking for a picture to share. Birthdays can lead to egocentric indulgence but today, at age 62, I am thinking about who I am and how I got to where I am. And these three people have more than a little to do with that. :-)
I am grateful for my nuclear family, of course. But I am also grateful to have been shaped by so many others in my extended family: my friends, my in-laws, my granddaughters, my teachers, my co-workers and so many more.
I was thinking that if I died today, I would have had a good and happy life. But I still have much to do. My work room and my workshop are a mess. And I've got a few more pictures to take. . .
