We were in Chicago a couple days ago and Deb asked me to check the front driveway camera to see if a package had arrived. In the process of doing this, I saw another clip that showed a person walking on the sidewalk from the north. They veered off towards the side of our driveway, bent down and then quickly resumed their walk on the sidewalk.
We have a small collection of “special” rocks where the person bent down and my first thought was that they had seen something they liked and walked off with it. Wow! But we don’t really “own” the rocks, do we? And if they were valuable, would we leave them with all of the “regular” rock? Not really. So it was no big deal.
When I showed the video clip to Deb, we saw that the person had put something down with the other rocks, not picked something up. The video was low resolution and so we had no idea what it was that had been left.
When we got home, I went out with a flashlight and I found what you are seeing above - a miniature work of art. What a gift!
We have no idea who our benefactor is but if you are reading this, thank you. It made coming home after 4 days all that much more rewarding.
