08-22-12 Take Me Back To Ljubljana

It's not that the beer is so good in Ljubljana, Slovenia, that I would love to go back there. I want to go back because it was such a charming place. But the beer helps.Lasko beer, incidentally, is produced by the largest brewery in Slovenia and the symbol on the glass and can is the Zlatorog, or "White Stag." I never saw the white stag in our travels through the Slovenian countryside. But I did see several Laskos.

08-30-09 Beer Lover's Delight

You are looking at mature Cascade hops growing outside the Red Hook brewery near Seattle, Washington. Hops give beer a slightly bitter taste, which some beer connoisseurs crave. We are looking at flowers, too. As with many things that humans eat or drink, I'm left wondering who had the idea to put these brown buds in beer to see what it did to the taste?

07-31-09 Don't Mess With Her!

It would appear that I'm trying to score points with my in-laws in this blog over the last few days. But of all the photos I took in Alaska, this is one of my favorites. When we walked by the cut-out on the streets of Sitka, Alaska, my mother-in-law agreed to pose. But she didn't agree to be the "Picture of the Day." I guessing I'm out of the will. Again.
