I went looking in my 2011 photo collection for something worth posting and came across this picture of a house that I have visited many times. Some of the first senior portraits I took were taken at this old house, which is about 15 miles north of Watertown,
This photo is a sort of a portrait, too, if you ask me. I always felt like the house had a spirit and personality. And I always felt that the place would have stories to tell me if it could only talk.
Sadly, the house and farm buildings have been razed and turned in to crop land. When I drove by this spot a few months after this photo session, it was gone and I felt like I had lost a friend. Frankly, if I had known that this would be the last time I would document this place, I would have taken greater care to focus of the details. And I would have savored the experience. But I do have the photos. . . .
