I don’t actively seek portrait assignments these days but when Judge Bob Spears called a few weeks ago and said he needed a photo or two for his re-election campaign, I couldn’t say “No.” I had done photos for his campaign eight years ago and I was honored to be asked again.
Bob represents the Third Judicial Circuit of South Dakota and from everything I’ve heard he is an excellent judge. He is also a great subject in a very photogenic setting. Just before I took this photo I said that this is the first time I had ever been before a judge in a courtroom. I’d say it’s much better to be there as a photographer than as a defendant.
I may be outside my boundaries in this blog to say this but I’ll say it anyway: Please vote to re-elect Judge Bob Spears this November.
