I suspect that if you came looking for a post about beer (Blue Moon Belgian Ale - and, NO, I don't drink it with a slice of orange), you will be disappointed. You might be even more disappointed if you came looking for an actual blue moon and found this rather common white one instead.
But this is a "blue moon" in that it was the second full moon in the month of July. Blue moons happen rarely, thus the expression, "Once in a blue moon."
I took this photograph yesterday morning (the full moon officially started on the night before - July 31) as I was heading towards the marina having spent parts of three days on my sailboat. It was an amazing morning to be out on the water.
Incidentally, the next blue moon will be on January 31, 2018. Mark your calendar.
