01-06-12 Center Lake
Here's another one from my distant, digital past. I remember taking this photo, along with about 100 others of these reeds. I liked the reflection, of course, but I also like the way the tops of the reeds curve. Finally, I also like the contrast between the brown of the plants and the blue of the lake.

Window Light
There were three of us photographing Kendra and Brandon's wedding today. My self-assigned mission was to capture architectural details. In the nearly-empty sanctuary hours before the wedding ceremony, I found this stained glass window casting its colored light onto the wooden pews of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Miller, SD.Visit our MobileMe web gallery.
We Can See Ourselves!
We were packing our rental car and getting ready to leave our little cottage in Aldeia da Mata Pequena, Portugal, when the two resident peacocks walked up and started to look at themselves in the dark reflection. I thought they were admiring themselves, but when they started to peck at our car, I concluded that they thought they were looking at two other peacocks that somehow posed a threat. They moved on amiably when I opened the passenger car door.
02-27-10 Distorted Reality
Though I have converted this photo to black and white, everything else about it is "real." Really! The twisted windows are reflections in one of the windows of the Art Institute of Chicago. In fact, I think it is this building, which was featured in another post on this blog.
01-31-10 Aegean Sunset
Here's another "reflections" photo. It's Deb again, striking a pose on a cruise boat sailing the eastern Aegean Sea. I think that's the same sun that sets in South Dakota, though.
07-10-09 Vespa
I was in Denver a few years ago and as I wandered around looking for photos, I encountered a beautiful baby blue Vespa motor scooter. There was something about the two-layered mirror and the reflection of the building that struck me. I didn't take any photos of the whole motorcycle and I wish I had.

03-28-09 Reflections of Florence
I was waiting in line to visit the Academia in Florence, Italy. Having nothing better to do, I looked down at a table of sunglasses that a street vendor had put out to lure tourists. And I saw the facades of the buildings and the beautiful morning sky reflected in the lenses. So I took this photo. That's all I have to say about this one.
